What do you want to know about college in general and Hartwick in particular?
This is a First Year Seminar, which means you are beginning your college career to prepare yourself for the future. You probably don't know what that future will be, and that's OK, but you should have some questions about what to expect while you're in college. You also chose Hartwick as your college, and it has been around for over 200 years! What have people done here, and what might you do here?
Let's put your brand new course website to use. For the first blog entry, write at least 250 words where you think aloud about what you will do in college and what you hope to accomplish. How do you think you will do it at Hartwick? What are other students doing at Hartwick? Have they always done these things? How has college life changed over the years? What was Hartwick like 20 or 30 years ago? 50 years ago?
Use an image to provide a visual complement to your post. Be sure to use something that is Creative Commons licensed.
You must post a complete blog entry by 9:00 PM August 31 (this gives me and the rest of the class time to read it). Please see the Grading Rubrics for an explanation of how I will evaluate this and all your blog posts. You must also post comments on two of your classmates' posts before coming to class. You should be able to do this after 9:00 PM August 31 (if not sooner). You will be able to find your classmates' blogs in the Blogroll on this website.
